Special Interest Group for Quantitative Research - SIGQUAN

Interested in being a volunteer?

What is required of me?

Simply less than 2 hours of your time per week, an aptitude in quantitative research and a basic knowledge of some quantitative methods. You need not be considered a stat whiz or be an RMS major! In fact, this is one academic group that you can be a part of irrespective of your department/advisor/major/dissertation topic as long as you love stat.

Why should I volunteer?

Because you get to know the developments in various fields. You get to know what real life data looks like (unlike the perfect data sets you used in classes). You get hands-on experience in solving and applying a variety of research methods and understanding them completely. You can get feedback from the students on how well you are performing as a quantitative researcher. More than all of these, you get to help! This is aimed to be a learning experience for both the student and the volunteer.
